Book That!

French Twist Bookbinding Workshop

$60.00

Sunday, October 11
2 - 4:30 PM
Pippin, Mezzanine Level (stair access)

Led by Derek Bacchus

Have you ever wanted to learn bookbinding but didn’t know where to start? Here’s your chance…a mini-workshop where you can learn how to make a simple book structure, all in one afternoon. By the time the workshop ends, you ARE a bookbinder.

All tools and materials supplied, plus instructions to take home so you can do it all over again. You'll start with a brief introduction to bookbinding equipment, followed by training in fundamental elements and techniques: identifying paper grain, scoring and folding, deckling edges, waxed threads, sewing needles, and customizing your covers.

You might also make some new local friends while getting hooked on this quiet and meditative practice that allows you to make beautiful gifts for your friends and family, or for yourself…with just a little bit of a French twist.
